Am visiting my 18 month old granddaughter and am working on finding and altering clothes that will work for her. However to get socks and shoes that will stay on her feet have been a challenge. Any suggestions?

Thought I'd write back. Found some solutions to our shoe and sock problem by thinking outside of the box!
For Carson's first year or so, I pinned his socks to his pant legs with diaper pins. It saved us a lot of lost socks!
Taylor is fixing to be 4 years old and in a infant size 5. The only kind of shoes that work for us is the ones that have the velcro on them. As long as I could pull the velcro as tight as I needed it then they stayed on until I took them off.
I have the same problem, and the only thing that really works to ensure a solid fit are shoes with a drawstring tie that I can tighten around her ankle~ not the foot or leg-warmer length socks that go up to her knees. I am grateful for a friend whose mother crocheted booties for my oldest daughter 13 years ago. I hung on to them for sentimental reasons, but now they are golden to help me keep Kaylee's feet warm in these colder months. Good luck! If I come across anything better, I will post again
