I know this is a weird question, but does anyone else sense that their young WHS'er needs deodorant at a young age? We just noticed this the other day and found it odd that only 24 hours after a bath, Kendall was in dire need of some roll-on.

Taylor also had this issue at a very young age. Since then, she has been diagnosed w/ benign premature adrenarche by a pediatric endocrinologist, which explains the "why" of her early onset body odor.
Anyway, easy fix I found: crystal body deodorant. It's all natural and 100% safe for even young children. We use the solid stick and apply it to her underarms immediately after a bath. It prevents the BO from ever occurring, and it lasts until next bath time (or swimming), when we need to reapply again. You can usually find it at any pharmacy by the other deodorants, way on the bottom shelf.
Thanks Katie! We'll check it out. Only 3 year old I know with BO! Fun stuff...
I have been having the same issue with Taylor. She is fixing to turn 4 but the BO started right after she turned 3. Her endocrinologist told us to use corn starch under her arms as a deodorant. It worked at first but then it went to us having to apply it 3 or 4 times during the day. I was looking around on the internet a few weeks ago about bo in children and I had seen where someone had posted they use crystal body deodorant just as Katie mentioned above. I bought it and it works great! My oldest daughter has starting using it too and she loves it. I have not had a issue with the bo on Taylor since we have started using it. I sure do hope that is all she needs because her Dr had mention to me to keep an eye out for hair growth because it was possible she was showing early signs of puberty. I sure do pray and hope that does not end up being the case with Taylor. We go back to see the Dr. in Dec. and he wants to run some blood work on her to check that out.
I just wanted to update on this since my last post. We finally had the blood work done today to have Taylor's hormones checked. Taylor started out having the BO and the crystal deodorant works great for that but she now has a small amount of hair under each arm and has some pubic hair. This is what the doctor had originally told me to look out for when I mentioned to him about the BO. He said it would take about two weeks to get results back and if the results came back ok then the hair growth was all we would have to put up with but if the test came back abnormal he said if was possible we may have to start Taylor on some meds to stop or slow down the onset of puberty. I was wondering if anyone else has had to take meds for this and if so how has it affected your kids? He also told me to keep an eye out for breast growth too. I can't imagine see that and I hope and pray we don't.
Hello everyone!
My daughter Zoe is 14 and we have dealt with this for a while. She was diagnosed with premature puberty about five years ago. We did start to notice BO and she developed underarm and pubic hair.
There are options for using medication to stop development, but we opted not to do that, since she was closer to "normal" puberty by the time she was diagnosed. She does get a Depo Provera shot every three months to prevent her from having a period. The doctor that you see for this is an endocrinologist.
This is one of the more awkward things we've dealt with. We've tried to take a minimalist approach, only using the drugs to treat what was going to have a major effect on her or make her uncomfortable. But this is a tricky one!

This is great information Michele. Thank you for sharing with us. We've thought about this often...
I just wanted to update that Taylor's blood work on her hormones came back normal. At this point the hair and bo is unexplained. I am happy that we will not be put on any meds for early puberty.
I am sad to have to come back and make a correction to my last post. Taylor's Doctor called me today and informed me Taylor's blood work was not normal. Problems are showing with her adrenal glands that sit on top of the kidneys and also showing possible bone maturity at a fast pace. We will be going through more test at the end of April. I just wanted to let you guys that have the issue with BO and the hair growth know so that you can ask your doctor if you need to have anything checked for your child.
